Dance of Light

the teethy Hindu smile
Iraqui eyes big, extended up
Burmese lips rounded in surprise
Nepali giggle in human unrestraint

In class we watch together the
animation by a British man,
both my Norwegian half and my other
grin at their faces moved by
a speechless dog on a screen

the music, the cues
the jealously, the action
the gun, sounds, the chase

as in algebra
our cultures drift away
